You may be reading this trying to figure out where to go in life from here. You may be hurting, lonely, afraid, worried, lost or hopeless in life. Everything that was tried or experimented with has come up empty and vain. That empty feeling is aching and there is nothing that you have found so far to fill it. This may be your last chance or your last hope.
I am excited to introduce you to the one who has the answers. The one who can fill that void. The one that will give you comfort for the pain, Companionship for the loneliness. He will give you bravery for the fear. Comfort for the worry. Direction for the lost. Hope to the hopeless. He is everything and anything you are needing or looking for. He is Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ said that He was the, "I Am" (John 8:58). That name is a name of God and Jesus here claimed that. Jesus is God and in the same breath when He said that he was the I Am, He was saying that He is everything that you may need. But without Christ it is impossible for Him to be the I Am in your life. The key is to turn to Him and accept the sacrifice that He made on the cross for you.
The Bible teaches that All are sinners and that everyone has fallen short of God's perfect standards (Romans 3:23). The Bible also teaches that there is nothing we can do to save ourselves (Titus 3:5), and indeed, all our righteousness is like filthy rags in God's eyes (Isaiah 64:6). What this means to us is that there is nothing that we can do ourselves to get ourselves into Heaven. Anything we do, if we are born with a father, is tainted with sin, for sin is passed down from our father all the way back to Adam. And in fact it is because of sin we are destined to spend an eternity separated from God. Lest we think that we can follow the law and do good that would be all that is needed, we should learn from what Paul says when he tells us through the power of God that the law only makes us aware of sin (Romans 3:20).
If we took the time we will find that the first three chapters of Romans puts a condemnation on all mankind. But there is good news. The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ came to earth, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, crucified on the cross, and then rose from the dead three days later and is now at the right hand of the Father. Because of His death, we are able to come to Him and seek forgiveness of sins and cleansing of our hearts and souls. When we accept Jesus as our personal savior, He comes into our lives, seals us with His Holy Spirit, and starts a transformation and a cleansing in our hearts that in the end will bring us closer to Him.
Christ is the answer. When He seals man with the sealing of the Holy Spirit, then man is sealed for all eternity! He will be there for all who call on Him and He will never forsake or leave us. All it takes is a child like faith that does several things:
1. Admit that we are sinners and have violated the laws and commands of God (1 John 1:9).
2. It is because of this violation that we are all doomed to a spiritual death in hell. (Romans 6:23).
3. To save us, God gave His Son, Jesus Christ to come and give Himself as a substitution to our death. He died where we should have.It is through this act of substitution that we can find grace and mercy. (John 3:16).
4. All we have to do is ask for God to forgive us of our wrongs, admit that we are sinners, and accept what Christ did on the cross for us. (Romans 10:13).
If you are interested in doing this, all it will take is a simple prayer of faith. It is not the prayer itself that will save you, but it is the fact of accepting what God did. It is a heart issue. If you wish to pray and ask for God's forgiveness, just pray:
"Lord God, I know that I have sinned. I know that I have sinned and broken your commands. I know that I am guilty of breaking your laws and am worthy of nothing but death and an eternity separated from you. But Lord, I know that your Son died to save me from my sins. He came and gave His life for me. I therefore ask that You forgive me of my sins and I accept the sacrifice that your Son made on my behalf. I pray that You come into my life, save me from my sins and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Lord I accept the sacrifice that Your Son did for me and I ask that you purge my heart and make me clean with the blood that was shed at Calvary. Thank you Lord for your grace and mercy, and may I now grow in that grace and mercy to glorify your Son and You. Thank you for your gift of salvation. Amen"
If you said that prayer and really meant it then you are now a bought child of God. The next thing that is needed is to be baptized and then get to a church where you can grow in your knowledge of Him.
